Each week the "Picture of the Week" page on The Hawk Conservancy's web site holds a single photograph, which represents my personal choice as the one I liked best of those recently received. My choice does not imply or deny technical or artistic merit. It's just the one I liked best. The main subject is birds of prey taken anywhere in the world. Please respect the photographers' and our intellectual property when using this site.

I was googling my name (Colin Scott) today and found this. Believe it or not (and you should because it is true), I have just (six hours ago) marvelled at a red kite as I stopped at a junction on my way to lunch at Beamish, near Gateshead. How much of a co-incindence is that? It almost beats the one where I searched for a 2010 calendar (after waiting unsuccessfully for a freebie; rejecting loads on style and cost; and then, in desperation, picking a cheap one in a sports shop mid-January whilst buying my children's trainers). We move house next month (May 2010) where the nextdoor neighbour is going to be the England cricketer Paul Collingwood, the very man who features in the claendar for the month of May. Weird!
